Resumen:Started over 30 years ago, Polytechnique's Computational Engineering Group,GRMIAO, focuses on developing new scientific know-how and tools to solve flow-based, multi-physics industrial problems that are beyond the scope of traditional analysis methods and commercial CFD software. Such problems are characterized by : multiple time and length scales (turbulence, reacting flows), complex geometries and moving boundaries, new controling physics(plasmas, laser ablasion or accretion, radiative heat transfer). The goal of this research has been to advance the predictive capability and reliability of numerical simulations through a pragmatic approach which combines appropriate physicalmodelling and computational techniques in a cost effective manner.
