Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) – 2014

The Center for World University Rankings has published its ranking of the 1000 best universities worldwide, placing Harvard in first position. The University of Malaga is ranked No. 14 among Spanish universities and No. 519 worldwide.

Shanghai Ranking

This global ranking organisation considers reputation together with the quantity and quality of a university’s scientific performance. In the fields of Social Science, Engineering, Technology and Computer Science, the University of Malaga is ranked among the best 500 universities in the world.

 SCIMAGO 2014 Report

In the SCIMAGO 2014 ranking system, the UMA is ranked No. 21 on a national level, according to scientific production from 2008-2012. Among Ibero-American countries, it is ranked No. 52 in a table of more than 1,600 higher education institutions.

International Student Satisfaction Awards 2014

The University of Malaga, together with six more Spanish universities, has been rated as excellent by the StudyPortals website. International Student Satisfaction Awards 2014 are based on reviews and opinions given by international students in Europe regarding an institution’s academic level, research, quality of teaching, universityservices etc.

Report on Transparency in Spanish Universities (Informe de Transparencia de las Universidades Españolas) (FCyT 2014)  

The Universities of Malaga and Jaen share second place in Andalusia according to the Report on Transparency in Spanish Universities, issued by the Commitment and Transparency Foundation (Fundación Compromiso y Transparencia) (FCyT). UMA is ranked 10th on a national level.

National patent applications submitted by universities in the period 2005-2012

The chart, drawn up by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, ranks universities according to their number of national patents. The source is the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office database. The University of Malagais ranked in ninth position with a total of 142 patents in the period from 2005-2012.
