Yolanda Espiña es doctora en Filosofía por la Universidad de Navarra, con una tesis sobre Hegel (La razón musical en Hegel. Pamplona: Eunsa, 1996). Con beca de la Fundación Rich, realizó toda la investigación para su doctorado en la Universidad de Munich, en colaboración con el Hegel-Archiv y la FernUniversität Hagen. Sobre Hegel ha publicado también artículos en varias revistas especializadas en Alemania y España. Tiene otras publicaciones de carácter filosófico vinculadas, sobre todo, a la filosofia contemporânea, en España, Alemania, Portugal, Malta y Brasil.
Ha sido Research Fellow en el John Cage Trust de Nueva York y Lady Davis Fellow en la Universidad Hebrea de Jerusalén.
Desde 1999 es Profesora en las áreas de Estética, Etica, Comunicación y Cultura, en la Escola das Artes de la Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Centro Regional de Oporto (Portugal). Allí ejerce también funciones de Coordinadora del Área Transversal en las Licenciaturas y Másters de esta Escola desde al año 2002. Fue miembro del consejo de Dirección hasta el año 2009. Es también Coordinadora de la Línea de Investigación de Teoría de las Artes del Centro de Investigación asociado a esta institución.
De la relación a la mediación: Una lectura hegeliana de la temporalidad en Platón
El objetivo de esta comunicación es elucidar el paralelismo que surge de considerar la correspondencia entre tiempo y temporalidad que tiene lugar en la conciencia en Hegel, con el análisis de Platón en torno al Uno y al tiempo. Este paralelismo será realizado en base al significado del ahora, que en Platón se asemeja a la expresión es, que indica la relación del ser temporal con el ser en general. Desde esta perspectiva, estaremos en condiciones de caracterizar la dimensión relacional del tiempo en Hegel, y analizar cómo la noción misma de relación se transforma en él en mediación, a partir de una interpretación muy especificamente hegeliana de Platón.

Yolanda Espiña holds a Ph.D in Philosophy, University of Navarra, with a dissertation on Hegel (La razón musical en Hegel. Pamplona: Eunsa, 1996). As a Fundación Rich Doctoral Fellow, she conducted her research at the University of Munich, in collaboration with the Hegel-Archiv and the FernUniversität Hagen. She has also published other essays on Hegel in several scientific reviews in Germany and Spain. She has other philosophical writings on contemporary philosophy, published in Spain, Germany, Portugal, Malta and Brasil.

She joined in 1999 the School of Arts of the Catholic University of Portugal, where she lectures on Aesthetics, Ethics and Communication. She was a member of the Coordination Committee of this School (until 2009), and she coordinates its Transversal Area, both in B.A.s and Masters, since 2002. She also leads the Research Group in Theory of Arts of the CITAR (Research Center on Science and Technology of Arts).

My aim with this paper is to elucidate the parallelism arose by considering the correspondence between time and temporality which takes place in consciousness in Hegel´s philosophy, and Plato´s thought on One and time. This parallelism will have as starting point the significance of now, a notion that in Plato can be identified with the very expression is, and which constitutes itself for him as the pure relationship between temporal being and being in general. From this perspective, we will be able to characterize the relational dimension of time in Hegel, and to analyze how the very notion of relationship transforms itself by him in mediation, departing from a very specifically Hegelian understanding of (specifically, late) Plato.
