The purpose of this visit is to update the existing collaboration programs between both institutions and explore new opportunities and joint projects. They have scheduled working visits to different university facilities and spaces. Both rectors expressed their desire for this meeting to lead to increased collaboration in areas such as research, innovation, student and faculty mobility, and the development of academic programs.
Since 2011, the University of Malaga has had East Asian Studies, an area that promotes interdisciplinary and innovation from the Department of Historical Sciences at UMA. In addition to its focus on teaching and research, this area is actively involved in promoting Korean culture and establishing institutional relationships with related entities at the international level. Over the years, both universities have strengthened their ties through student and faculty mobility agreements, joint collaborations between research groups from both universities, and the promotion of studies at each institution, among other projects.
