BREVE CURRÍCULUM:

CRISTÓBAL CARNERO RUIZ is a Professor of the Department of Applied Physics II at the University of Málaga (Spain). He is a member of the Spanish Group of Colloids and Interfaces and of the Spanish Royal Society of Physics. He received the BS and MS in Chemistry by the University of Granada (Spain) in 1976. After thirteen years, where he served as a high school teacher, he obtained a PhD (with honors) in Chemistry at Málaga University and later, in 1998, a PhD (with honors) in Physics at Granada University. In 1990 he joined the Department of Applied Physics II at the University of Málaga, where he serves as senior researcher of the group “Structured Fluids and Amphiphilic Systems”, whose main interest lies in the field of association colloids. In the last years he received a number of grants from academic source with a total value of over 250,000 €. His main contributions in this area (as author or co-author of numerous professional papers) deal with mixed micellization, the effect of additives and co-solvents on micellization of surfactants, and the characterization of the interactions biopolymer-surfactant.
