Welcome to the international students who are participating in mobility programs at UMA this academic year!

They will be more than 1.4000 students from 60 different nationalities
A substantial representation of students who will participate in mobility exchange programs at the University of Malaga during the first semester of this academic year or for the entire year attended the welcome event organized by the Vice-Rectorate for Mobility and International Cooperation.
This year, UMA will host over 1,400 students from 60 different nationalities. The largest groups from European Union countries include Italy (293), Germany (199), France (147), and Poland (120). Regarding non-European mobility, South Korea (85) and Mexico (74) stand out in numbers.
The welcome event took place in the Auditorium of the School of Computer Science and Telecommunications (ETSI de Informática y Telecomunicación) and was presided over by the Deputy Vice-Rector for International Mobility, Elidia Blázquez. During her address, she expressed gratitude to the students for choosing the University of Malaga to pursue their academic education and encouraged them to enjoy the city and the culture of Malaga.
The reception day was designed to provide information to the new students, so representatives from various university services presented activities and programs that may be of interest to them during their stay at UMA.
Magdalena de la Chica and Delia García, responsible for incoming mobilities at the International Relations Office, provided information about administrative and academic processes, while Isabel Rocha from the UMA International Hub explained the free activities in which international students can participate, including trips around the province, cultural visits to city museums, language exchanges, flamenco workshops, cooking workshops, and more.
One of the office's standout programs is the Buddy Program, where international students are paired with local students to promote their integration and welcome.
Hilario Sánchez, the Director of the Sports Service, presented all the university's sports facilities, reduced rates, and the events and tournaments held during the academic year.
Finally, a representative from Erasmus Student Network in Malaga, a student organization that assists exchange students in their integration into the city through various activities, also addressed the attendees.
