    The EDANYA Group of the University of Malaga has been nominated as one of the four finalists for NVIDIA’s 2018 Global Impact Award, which provides $200,000 to researchers using NVIDIA technology for groundbreaking work that addresses social, humanitarian and environmental problems.

  • Expert meeting on tsunamigenic sources with potential impact in the Iberian coast, Balearic and Canary Islands.

    Next 6 th and 7 th November EDANYA group in collaboration with IGME organizes this meeting which objective is to produce a complete catalog of tsunamigenic sources, both of seismic origin and sedimentary origin (submarine landslides),with potential impact on the coasts of Iberia, Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands.   • Workshop on Tsunami-HySEA code.

    From 9th to 13th October 2017 a training course in the Tsunami-HySEA code took place at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (UNA).

  • Contract with INGV-Pisa

    Landslide modelling in Stromboli The 18 th and 19 th October 2017 meeting at INGV Pisa to discuss about a new research project dealing with the mathematical modeling and numerical simulation of landslides in Stromboli Island and associated tsunamis. This project, leaded by INGV Pisa, is funded by the Italian Civil Protection. A new collaboration. A new challenging problem to tackle.

  • The University of Malaga and the UTFSM

    The UMA and the UTFSM (Universidad Técnica Federico de Santa María) have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in Tsunami Research.

  • Lituya Bay paper submitted

    Long time after we started working on this challeging problem, that was the aim of our first contract with PMEL/NOAA, we finally submit this work to the journal Natural Hazards. Attending for the rewiews.

  • New Article in PAAG

    The 21th June 2017, the paper entitled "Performance Benchmarking of Tsunami-HySEA model for NTHMP's inundation mapping activities" was published online at the journal "Pure and Applied Geophysics".  This work have been published in open access and can be downloaded at Macías et al.   • Working in the Spanish TEWS


    Next 5 and 6th of June we will receive the visit of our colleagues from IGN (Instituto Geográfico Nacional). A two-day intensive training on our numerical code Tsunami-HySEA, that will be the computing core of the Spanish TEWS (Tsunami Early Warning System), is the aim for this visit.

  • La Gran Ola

    On March 18, the screening of the documentary "La Gran Ola" took place at the Festival de Cine de Málaga (Málaga Film Festival). The EDANYA Group has collaborated in this documentary in which you can see our numerical simulations.
