Sermae Angela Pascual is an InnoGuard project Marie Skłodowska-Curie PhD Candidate in Law at the Universidad de Málaga
Angela holds a Juris Doctor (with honors) from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law (2024), complemented by dual undergraduate degrees in Applied Economics and Financial Management from De La Salle University Manila (2017). She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2025.
Before her PhD studies, she practiced corporate law in the Philippines, advising on market entry, regulatory compliance, and due diligence. She also brings experience in finance across multinational corporate and startup environments, where she oversaw financial management, planning, and operations.
She is a PhD Candidate in Law at the Universidad de Málaga, within the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network funded by the European Union under the InnoGuard Project (2024–2028). Her research focuses on the legal frameworks governing artificial intelligence (AI) in cyber-physical systems, with particular attention to the European Union’s AI Act, related liability regimes, data protection law, and the intersection between technology and fundamental rights.
