Theses by compendium in the doctoral program in Legal and Social Sciences are exceptional. The works that will make up the thesis by compendium must present thematic and systematic coherence. As a general rule, co-authorship will not be accepted except in articles published in journals included in the Journal Citation Reports, provided that the doctoral candidate is listed as the first or second author.

For the academic committee to consider a thesis by compendium proposal, at least one of the following two options must be met:

A) Publication of at least 14 works, each with a minimum of 20 pages. Seven of these must have been published in at least three different journals indexed in categories A, B, or C. Additionally, one of the journals must be classified in category A or B. The remaining seven works must have appeared in journals classified in category D or in book chapters published by publishers indexed in the Scholarly Publishers Indicators in Humanities and Social Sciences (SPI) database, accessible at http://ilia.cchs.csic.es/SPI/. For the classification of the journals, the classification granted by CARHUS+ (https://agaur.gencat.cat/es/avaluacio/carhus/) or CIRC, which can be seen on Dialnet, is used.

B) Publication of seven works, of which four must be in at least two journals included in the Journal Citation Reports or in the first or second quartile of Scopus. At least one other must have been published in a journal classified in category A or B in CARHUS+ or CIRC. A maximum of two book chapters published by publishers listed in the SPI (Scholarly Publishers Indicators) may be submitted.
