Brief CV

I obtained my degree in Mathematics at the University of Málaga (UMA) in 1992, after which I moved to the Mathematics department of the Autonomous University of Barcelona(UAB) with a research scholarship. There, and within the research group on Partial Differential Equations and Applications, I did my PhD Thesis under the supervision of Professor Xavier Mora, on the subject of infinite dimensional dynamical systems.

In 1996 I returned to the University of Málaga as assistant professor in the department of Mathematical Analysis. Since then I have been a member of it, having obtained my current position as Associate Professor (Profesor Titular) in 2001. During this period I joined the group EDANYA (Differential Equations, Numerical Analysis and Applications), led by Professor Carlos Parés. This fact motivated a reorientation of my research interests towards Numerical Analysis and applications, mainly to geophysical flows. Both at UAB and UMA I have participated uninterruptedly as a researcher in various research projects, both at the regional, state and international levels.
