We welcome more than 1,100 students who will be studying in the second semester at UMA

The traditional welcome event for international students at the University of Málaga took place on February 8th in the Auditorium of the School of Telecommunications/Computer Engineering.
This informative assembly was presided over by Zaida Díaz Cabiale, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, warmly welcoming international students who will be studying during this second semester. Also present were Beatriz Blázquez, Deputy Vice-Rector for Mobility; Miriam Seghiri, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Language Policy; and Ricardo del Milagro, Head of the International Relations Service. During the second semester, over 1100 students will be studying at the University of Málaga, with a significant number coming from Italy, France, and Germany in Europe, and South Korea, Mexico, and Colombia from the rest of the world.
During the assembly, the administrative team responsible for managing international mobility within the vice-rectorate provided detailed information on the procedures and necessary paperwork for staying at UMA. Topics such as enrollment, document management, and the various services UMA offers its students were addressed. The assembly also featured Isabel Rocha from the UMA International Hub, a point of information and integration for international students, notably highlighting the Buddy Program. Her presentation was received with interest by attendees, who recognized the importance of establishing social and support networks from the beginning of their university experience in a new environment.
Furthermore, the Sports Service, under the direction of Hilario Sánchez, presented various sports and recreational activities available for students, emphasizing the importance of physical and mental well-being in academic success and adaptation to a new cultural environment.
Finally, the assembly was concluded by one of the largest student associations in Europe, Erasmus Students Network Málaga (ESN Málaga), who advocate for the interests of international students.
