The event brought together 63 participants from 24 countries, including Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Dominican Republic, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. The attendees were given a guided tour of the museum, and ended the activity with a welcome cocktail.

The Consular Corps of Malaga and the University of Malaga (UMA) maintain a close collaborative relationship with the aim of strengthening the international projection of the city and the academic institution. Through the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation, the UMA promotes numerous initiatives in which the 52 accredited consulates play a key role, serving as a bridge between the university community and the diplomatic, business and cultural spheres of their respective countries.

This cooperation takes the form of activities such as International Week, in which the consulates actively participate by organising activities and meetings to promote academic mobility, exchange programmes and opportunities for collaboration in joint research projects. In addition, the Consular Corps collaborates in attracting international talent, facilitating the arrival of foreign students and professors, as well as in the dissemination of the academic offer of the UMA in different countries.

Beyond International Week, this synergy extends throughout the year with the organisation of cultural days, cycles of conferences on international relations, meetings with representatives of foreign institutions and the promotion of Malaga as an academic destination of excellence. Thanks to this close relationship, the UMA is consolidating its position as a benchmark in the internationalisation of higher education, while the city reinforces its role as a meeting point between cultures and a global knowledge centre.

In addition to institutional aspects, topics related to Spanish language and culture will also be addressed, providing attendees with a complete overview of the cultural and educational traditions of the UMA and the city of Malaga.

Over the next few days, participants will take part in a training programme designed to promote both learning and international collaboration. The agenda includes lectures, presentations and practical workshops that will provide a comprehensive overview of the services and structures that make up the UMA. The Vice Rectors' Offices for Internationalisation, Culture, Students, Employability and Entrepreneurship, Infrastructures and Sustainability, and Equality and Social Policy, together with key units such as the UMA International HUB, the General Library, the Sports Service and the Faculty of Tourism, will share their experiences and details on the opportunities and resources available to students and academic staff.

Throughout this week, attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about Malaga's culture and traditions, which will further enrich their experience both professionally and personally.

With this initiative, the UMA reaffirms its commitment to internationalisation, consolidating its position as a benchmark in the promotion of academic and cultural cooperation at a global level.
