International students explore Málaga’s Alcazaba in a self-guided cultural visit

The activity, organised by the UMA International Hub, gave participants the chance to freely discover one of the city’s most iconic landmarks thanks to the collaboration of the City Council’s Department of Culture and Historical Heritage.
On Monday 6 May, a group of international students from the University of Málaga had the opportunity to visit the Alcazaba of Málaga, one of the city’s historical and architectural gems, as part of a cultural activity organised by the UMA International Hub.
Thanks to the collaboration of the Alcazaba-Gibralfaro Management, Maintenance and Promotion Service, part of the Department of Culture and Historical Heritage of Málaga City Council, students were granted free access to the monument. Although the visit was not guided, participants had time to explore the fortress-palace at their own pace, discovering its walls, courtyards and towers, and immersing themselves in the history of this 11th-century site.
The experience was warmly received by the students, who enjoyed both the cultural heritage and the stunning panoramic views of the city. Activities like this strengthen the connection between international students and their local surroundings, encouraging cultural exchange and integration into university life in Málaga..
