Last Thursday, March 20th, a group of international students had the opportunity to take part in a free guided tour of the Alcazaba of Málaga, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.

The activity started promptly at 5:00 PM at the meeting point, the glass pyramid in front of the Roman Theatre. From there, participants, led by an expert guide, explored the most fascinating corners of this Moorish fortress-palace.

During the tour, students learned about the history of the Alcazaba, built in the 11th century, and its significance as both a defensive stronghold and the residence of Muslim rulers. Iconic areas such as the towers, walls, and inner courtyards were visited, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city.

In addition to enjoying the historical and architectural richness of the site, students highlighted the experience as an excellent opportunity to connect with local culture and with their fellow international peers.

The UMA International Hub extends its gratitude to all participants and reminds everyone that these activities aim to enrich the experience of our students by promoting knowledge of Málaga’s cultural heritage.
