Área de Derecho Constitucional de la Universidad de Málaga

For historical reasons, the area of Constitutional Law currently shares a department with a non-legal area, the area of Sociology. Both form the Department of State Law and Sociology. The headquarters of the Constitutional Law Teaching Unit is located in the Faculty of Law.

The area of constitutional law is an autonomous section within the department and has its own coordinator. Although this autonomy has existed since the constitution of the department, it has been formally recognized in 2014 by the rectorate through the approval by the Governing Council of the UMA of the constitution of a Teaching Unit. The Constitutional Law Teaching Unit manages its own budget and academic programme autonomously, within that established by the University of Malaga's Statutes.
