On Tuesday, November 14th, a distinguished delegation from the thriving city of Shenzhen, China, visited the UMA International HUB facilities, located in the picturesque surroundings of the botanical garden at the University of Malaga (UMA). Led by the Deputy Vice-Rector of International Cooperation, PhD. José Jesús Delgado Peña, the visit aimed to explore potential collaborations and gain insight into the international initiatives carried out by UMA.

Headed by prominent authorities from Shenzhen University, the delegation included the esteemed presence of the Vice President and translator of the Chinese institution. The delegation's main interest focused on understanding the operations of the international relations service at the University of Malaga and gaining an up-close look at the support programs offered by the UMA International HUB, particularly the renowned "buddy program."

During the tour, the presence of two distinguished academics was highlighted: PhD. María Recuenco from the Department of Translation and Interpretation in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, and PhD. Cristina Castillo from the Subarea of Language and Literature Teaching (English) in the Department of Languages, Arts, and Sports in the Faculty of Education Sciences. Both experts accompanied the Chinese delegation, providing detailed information about language teaching departments, an area of particular interest for the visitors.

The University of Malaga hopes that this fruitful meeting, led by the Deputy Vice-Rector of International Cooperation, sets the groundwork for a bilateral agreement within the Erasmus KA171 program framework, thus strengthening academic and cultural ties between both institutions. The potential collaboration promises to open new opportunities for student exchange, joint research, and the development of educational projects that will benefit both academic communities.
