The personal (sensitivities, aptitudes, specific abilities) and academic characteristics of those people who are considered most suitable to begin doctoral studies in Equality and Gender are the following, although they should not be considered exhaustive or exclusive:
- Concern, curiosity and sensitivity for research in the field of gender and equality studies.
- Ability to guide scientific progress towards the achievement of equality between women and men and the eradication of discrimination, in order to improve the quality of life of the social environment, promoting a continuous exchange of experiences and reflections.
- Willingness to advance gender and equality studies through discussion, critical reflection and the sharing of knowledge and information.
- Capacity for oral and written comprehension and expression in Spanish and English equivalent to level B2-C1 (effective operational proficiency) of the Common Framework of Reference for Languages, and advanced proficiency in any other language that the PhD student wishes to incorporate into her/his research.
- Sensitivity to the acceptance of cultural diversity, promoting multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary projects that, from a non-androcentric perspective, do research on women, masculinities, sex, gender identities, gender relations and discrimination suffered by women and other groups of people.
- Willingness to disseminate research through publications and scientific events that allow the dissemination and transfer of results to the social environment.
- Ability to use information access and office automation tools.
- Capacity for autonomous work.
