- An area of moderate seismic activity
- Frequent low intensity earthquakes
- Hardly one of these earthquakes, per se, could produce an observable tsunami
- Low probablility for tsunamis and most of them of low intensity
- Only if the earthquake triggers a submarine landslide its effects could be important
