Unit of Numerical Methods

The Unit of Numerical Methods (UNM) of the University of Malaga initially located at the SCAI (Servicios Centrales de Apoyo a la Investigación – Support Research Service) now it is located at the Ada Byron building. This unit was conceived to provide of technical support in numerical simulation to end-users from our university or external to it. The unit is equipped with high-computing hardware resources, and focus its activity in numerical codes implemented in GPUs. Most applications are related with the simulation of Geophysical Flows.

In the Unit of Numerical Methods the following tasks are carried out:

• Numerical methods: Resolution of large linear systems, generation of meshes, resolution of ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations using high order methods.
• Vectorial and parallel programming of PCs and NVIDIA graphics cards with Kepler architecture.
