Date: Two-day training

  • Day 1: Monday, 7 April 2025, from 16:00 to 18:00 CEST
  • Day 2: Tuesday, 8 April 2025, from 16:00 to 18:00 CEST

Location: Virtual training course.   Register here!

Speakers: Sergio Ortega (University of Malaga), Carlos Sánchez-Linares (University of Malaga), Jorge Macías (University of Malaga)

Research fields: Tsunamis, landslides, numerical modeling, numerical simulations

Target audience: The training is open to all researchers interested in tsunami modeling. Young researchers as well as Master and PhD students are highly welcome. No knowledge about modeling or numeric is required.

Scope: The aim of the course is to provide a first approach to the Landslide-HySEA software for simulation of landslide-generated tsunamis, from its very basics. We will also provide an introduction to the computational web platform HySEA and attendees will learn how to use this platform in the case of landslide-generated tsunamis.

Learning Goals: The main goal is to provide the attendees with the capacity to perform by themselves numerical modelling and to produce numerical simulations of landslide-generated tsunamis.

Transnational Access: HySEA is one of the Geo-INQUIRE installation for Transnational Access. Please consider to submit your application until the 28 February 2025: https://www.geo-inquire.eu/transnational-access-offer/ta2-531-3

Virtual Access: Geo-INQUIRE installation HySEA VA4-531-4
