The research group on Differential Equations, Numerical Analysis and Applications (EDANYA) of the University of Málaga has a wide experience in Numerical Analysis. The group focuses its research in the numerical simulation of geophysical fluids by means of the numerical solution of hydrodynamic models. Besides the software development, the group has implemented a versatile web interface for intensive computation in CPU and GPU clusters.
Our more active lines of research are:
Numerical Analysis of systems of Partial Differential Equations: Finite Element Methods Finite Volume Methods
Geophysical flows simulation: Shallow-Water models Sediment transport Submarine and aerial avalanches Tsunami generation, propagation and inland penetration Oceanographic applications Hydrodynamic-Biology coupled models Pollutant transport Hazard assessment (dambreaks, avalanches, floods, ...)

The EDANYA Group of the University of Malaga has been nominated as one of the four finalists for NVIDIA’s 2018 Global Impact Award, which provides $200,000 to researchers using NVIDIA technology for groundbreaking work that addresses social, humanitarian and environmental problems.
Next 6 th and 7 th November EDANYA group in collaboration with IGME organizes this meeting which objective is to produce a complete catalog of tsunamigenic sources, both of seismic origin and sedimentary origin (submarine landslides),with potential impact on the coasts of Iberia, Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands. Landslide modelling in Stromboli The 18 th and 19 th October 2017 meeting at INGV Pisa to discuss about a new research project dealing with the mathematical modeling and numerical simulation of landslides in Stromboli Island and associated tsunamis. This project, leaded by INGV Pisa, is funded by the Italian Civil Protection. A new collaboration. A new challenging problem to tackle.
Numerical simulation of the 1755 Cádiz tsunami that EDANYA Group has performed for the documentary "La Gran Ola". This simulation have been produced with the Tsunami-HySEA software, developed at UMA.
