Access to doctoral studies of degrees outside EHEA
APPLICATION FOR ASSESSMENT OF REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCESS TO DOCTORAL STUDIES OF FOREIGN DEGREES NOT HOMOLOGATED ISSUED BY A COUNTRY OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION AREA (EHEA) |
Those persons in possession of a degree obtained in accordance with foreign educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) may access doctoral studies without the need for homologation, after verifying that the degree accredits a level of training equivalent to that of the official Spanish Master's degree and that it entitles access to doctoral studies in the country where the degree was issued.
The University of Malaga will verify the level of training of the foreign degree for access to official Doctorate studies.
The application for the evaluation of the studies completed must be submitted through the Application Manager of the Doctoral School, choosing from the menu "Acceso y matriculación 1er año - Valoración previa de estudios extranjeros ajenos al EEES" (Access and enrolment 1st year - Previous evaluation of foreign studies outside the EHEA), accompanied by the required documentation.
The period for submitting the application for the next academic year 2025/2026 will be open from Tuesday, June 3rd to Monday, September 15th (both days inclusive).
Note: The required documents in scanned PDF copies can be submitted at the time of application in Spanish or English. However, if the applicant is finally admitted to a doctoral programme, he/she must show, for comparison, the original documents legalized or apostilled, if applicable, and if they were written in a language other than Spanish, they must be translated by a sworn translator (search) or by any diplomatic or consular representation of the Spanish State abroad.
Once the evaluation document has been issued by the Postgraduate Studies Committee of the University of Malaga, or even if you have not yet obtained it, you must submit the pre-enrolment application and present it together with the rest of the documentation required for admission.
Admission to the doctoral programme will be conditioned, in addition, to the favourable resolution of the Academic and Quality Committee of the same.
You must pre-enrol in order to apply for a place in the specific Doctoral Programme you are interested in, within the corresponding deadlines (see Admission and Enrolment information).
Step 1 must be done even if the pre-registration application period in September has begun. The period for both procedures will end the same day.
If you are admitted in a Doctoral Programme, you will be able to formalize your registration within the established deadline and must provide the required documentation according to the Registration Guide.
Only scanned copies in PDF format of the required documents (in Spanish or English) can be submitted at the time of application.
