Seminars about Tunisian Design Culture, Arabic Calligraphy Applied to Design and Rebranding Tunisian crafts are being held at UMA thanks to the Erasmus+ KA107 mobility of Prof. Ben Khalifa, from the Instiut Supérieur des Métiers de la Mode de Monastir, Tunisia.

Dhafer Ben Khalifa, university lecturer, designer and recently founder of "Collectif Créatif" association aimed at promoting culture through creative industries, works to contribute to the promotion of Tunisian Design through his tutoring activity at University, but also through his personal work and various collaborations with national and International stakeholders. His work is based on the renewal of craftsmanship by creativity centered approach going beyond semantic clichés.
Students and academic staff of UMA (Faculty of Fine Arts/ Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering) have learned in a dynamic way to implement their designs with mockups. They have also learnt about Local specificities of Tunisian creative industry, namely product design and crafts.
