Carlos de las Heras Pedrosa holds a Bachelor's degree in Business and Economics and a PhD degree in Advertising and Public Relations.

He is a Professor in the field of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising. He currently teaches a course on Institutional Communication.

He began his career path in 1989 at the multinational Fiat Auto España S.A. where he performed his duties as Regional Logistics Manager. Later, in 1991, he is hired by multinational D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles as Regional Promotion and Advertising Manager responsible for the accounts management of Fiat Auto España S.A. The scope of application of his responsibility fell within Andalusia and Valencia.

Among his academic and management positions filled he has been Co-director of the PhD Programme Organizational Communication; Director of the Master’s Programme in Communication and Tourism Management; and Vice Dean of the School of Communication.

Furthermore, he has exercised his duties as Academic Coordinator of the Exchange and Mobility Programme (PIMA) from the University of Málaga; General Assisstant Director of Communication, Protocol, and Presidents’ Cabinet.

During eight years he has held the position of Vice-President for Institutional Relations and President’s Cabinet at the University of Málaga.

Currently, he’s Coordinator of the Postgraduate Programme Strategic Management and Innovation in Communication.

His research production revolves around three main lines: Tourism Communication, Health Communication and Institutional Communication. The latter, further develops aspects related to fundraising, as well as the image of institutions and their leaders.

He has been a visiting research at the University of Miami (USA) and University of Sheffield, University of Cardiff and University of Leeds (UK). He has also been visiting professor of the Doctoral Programme at the Universidad de Guadalajara (México) and Universidad de Barinas, Universidad del Zulia and Universidad de Oriente (Venezuela).
