BREVE CURRÍCULUM:
Rosario López es Profesora Contratada Doctora en el Departamento de Filosofía. Doctora en Filosofía por la Universidad de Málaga (2013). Entre 2013 y 2016 fue Investigadora Postdoctoral y Tutora en el Institute of Intellectual History (University of St Andrews). Ha sido Investigadora Postdoctoral del Programa para la Captación del Talento para la Investigación en la Universidad de Málaga (2016), e Investigadora Postdoctoral Juan de la Cierva–Incorporación en la Universidad de Málaga (2017).
Es Editor-in-Chief de la revista Global Intellectual History (Taylor & Francis), miembro del proyecto de investigación del Plan Nacional de I+D+i Civic Constellation III: Democracy, Constitutionalism, and Anti-Liberalism (PGC2018-093573-B-100, 2019-2022), miembro del grupo de investigación Filosofía Moral y Política (HUM 350) del Plan Andaluz de Investigación, miembro del consejo académico de Concepta: International Research School in Conceptual History and Political Thought, miembro del consejo académico del History of Concepts Group y miembro de la Asociación Española de Ética y Filosofía Política (AEEFP). Entre 2017 y 2021 ha sido Working Group Leader en la Acción COST Reappraising Intellectual Debates on Civic Rights and Democracy in Europe.
Ha realizado estancias de investigación en el Centre of Excellence in Political Thought and Conceptual Change de la Universidad de Jyväskylä (2010), y en el Centre for Political Ideologies, en la Universidad de Oxford (2011). Ha impartido docencia en la Universidad de St Andrews (2014-15) y la Universidad de Jyväskylä (2015-16).
En la actualidad, imparte clases en títulos de Grado y Máster sobre filosofía política, teoría democrática, historiografía del pensamiento político y derechos humanos.
Es una de las coordinadoras del Máster Filosofía, Ciencia y Ciudadanía y Coordinadora de Movilidad del Departamento de Filosofía.

INVESTIGACIÓN EN:
Sus líneas de trabajo exploran la relación entre los campos de la filosofía, la historiografía y la política. Su investigación se centra, por una parte, en las metodologías para el estudio del pensamiento político y la historia y popularización del liberalismo político desde el siglo XIX (John Stuart Mill, Richard Cobden). Por otra parte, ha trabajado sobre pensamiento político y debates parlamentarios, con especial atención a Reino Unido y España.

PREMIOS:
Su tesis doctoral Concepts and Historical Contexts in Liberalism’s Intellectual Debates: A Study of John Stuart Mill’s Moral and Political Thought obtuvo la Mención Internacional. Además, ha recibido el premio “Luis Díez del Corral” 2013 a la mejor tesis en Historia de las Ideas y de las Formas Políticas, Teoría Política Normativa y Filosofía Política (Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales, Madrid) y el Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado 2013-14 del Programa de doctorado Estudios Avanzados en Humanidades: Especialidades en Historia, Arte, Filosofía y Ciencias de la Antigüedad (Universidad de Málaga).

BRIEF CV:
Rosario López is Lecturer (open ended) at the Department of Philosophy. She earned her PhD from the University of Málaga in 2013. Between 2013 and 2016, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow and Tutor at the Institute of Intellectual History (University of St Andrews). She has been a Postdoctoral Fellow “Programa para la Captación del Talento para la Investigación” at the Universidad de Málaga (2016), and Juan de la Cierva Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Málaga (2017).
She is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Global Intellectual History (Taylor & Francis), member of the research project Civic Constellation III: Democracy, Constitutionalism, and Anti-Liberalism (PGC2018-093573-B-100, 2019-2022), a member of the research group Moral and Political Philosophy (HUM 350) Andalusian Research Plan, Board Member of Concepta: International Research School in Conceptual History and Political Thought, Board Member (Secretary) of the History of Concepts Group, and member of the Spanish Association of Ethics and Political Philosophy (AEEFP). Between 2017 and 2021, she was Working Group Leader in the COST Action Reappraising Intellectual Debates on Civic Rights and Democracy in Europe.
She has been a visiting scholar at the Centre of Excellence in Political Thought and Conceptual Change, University of Jyväskylä (2010) and the Centre for Political Ideologies, University of Oxford (2011). She has taught at the University of St Andrews (2014-15) and the University of Jyväskylä (2015-16).
Currently, she teaches courses at BA and MA levels on political philosophy, democratic theory, historiography of political thought, and human rights. She is one of the coordinators of the MPhil Programme in Philosophy, Science, and Citizenship and Mobility Coordinator for the Department of Philosophy.

RESEARCH:
Her work explores the relationship between philosophy, historiography, and politics. Her research focuses on the methods for the study of political thought and the history of political liberalism since the 19th century (John Stuart Mill, Richard Cobden). She has also worked on political thought and parliamentary debates, with a focus on UK and Spain.

AWARDS:
Her doctoral thesis, “Concepts and Historical Contexts in Liberalism’s Intellectual Debates: A Study of John Stuart Mill’s Moral and Political Thought,” received the “International Distinction”. She was awarded the “Luis Díez del Corral” Prize in 2013 (Center for Political and Constitutional Studies, Madrid), as well as the “Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado” 2013-14.
