Project description

The aim is to establish a new Masters programme, the European Masters in Technology for Translation and Interpreting, coordinated by the University of Wolverhampton, which aims to produce specialists in the use of leading-edge technology for translation and interpreting.

Students will choose to go to two universities in the consortium and will study for one semester at one of the universities, then undertake a practical training and then spend the other year at another university. The study programme comprises taught subjects and a research project thesis in the domain. The main subjects taught will be research methods and tools for translation and interpreting. To complete the course, each student must obtain 120 ECTS credits: at least 60 ECTS in subjects taken and up to 60 ECTS through the research project dissertation, of which 30 ECTS will be awarded on the basis of practical training.

The projects will be jointly supervised by faculty members who are actively involved in research and also supervise PhD theses, as well as visiting scholars. All consortium partners are associated with university research laboratories. Students will receive a joint master's degree.
