Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais

UFMG, a public institution of free higher education, is the oldest university in the state of Minas Gerais. Its foundation took place on September 7^th, 1927 under the name University of Minas Gerais (UMG). Its community brings together about 72,000 people in the cities of Belo Horizonte, Montes Claros, Diamantina and Tiradentes, which organize around 91 undergraduate courses, 87 graduate programs and 753 research centers.
