Report of Special Academic Needs addressed to the professor

The Office of Attention to Diversity, at the request of the student with functional diversity, prepares a report with information and recommendations to be applied in the teaching of these students. The report is provided to the student, after evaluation, and after a process of orientation on its correct use. The student with functional diversity must be the one to show and/or send this report.

What is the Special Academic Needs Report addressed to the professor?

A report prepared by the Office of Attention to Diversity with the special academic needs of the student with functional diversity.


Who can request this report?

Students with an accredited disability at the University of Malaga.

Students who present an accredited specific learning difficulty.

How to apply?

By requesting an assessment from the Office of Attention to Diversity through the online “Gestor de Peticiones”. Students with special needs belonging to incoming mobility programs, will have to provide documentation proving their disability. This documentation must be translated into Spanish by a sworn translator in case the documents are in a different language.


When can I apply?
Throughout the academic year.

How to use the report?
The report is a document that will be provided to the student, who will be autonomous and responsible for its use.


Recommendations for its proper and effective use:
Show the report in person to the teaching staff in the space assigned to tutorials.
Provide the report to the teaching staff and/or the student's mobility coordinator.


 

RESOURCES PROVIDED BY THE DIVERSITY OFFICE

University Library


The University Library has implemented a set of services to facilitate the use of and access to all the resources it offers to users with some kind of disability, promoting and facilitating, among other issues, access to facilities, resources and services for people with disabilities.

Highlighted measures:


- Adaptation of spaces and equipment (reserved tables, adapted reading posts, etc.).
- Drawing up a protocol for the care of people with disabilities, with the collaboration of the Support Service for Students with Disabilities.
- Special lending regulations, more favourable terms, which allow to obtain a greater number of copies and for a longer period of time.
- Intercampus loan service for students with disabilities.
In order to take advantage of these measures, the student must provide the report drawn up by the Office for Attention to Diversity.

Assistant


What does it consist of?
This programme provides a personal assistant to students in a situation of dependence to help them attend teaching activities at the University of Malaga.


How many hours are funded?
The hours dedicated to attending the teaching activities of those subjects in which the student is enrolled. A maximum of 25 hours per week will be funded.


What are the requirements to be eligible for this programme?
You must have a recognised physical disability greater than 33%.


How to apply?
By requesting an assessment through the “Gestor de peticiones” to the Office for Attention to Diversity: https://gp.uma.es/oae/
You must provide a report of recognised physical disability with a degree of disability greater than 33% issued by an official institution in the country of origin and translated into Spanish by a sworn translator.
