Project description

The aim of this project is to improve digital skills in the podiatric professional community, both for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as to transfer research and scientific knowledge to clinical foot health education and practice.

In addition to:

  1. Developing a new knowledge framework: improving the current knowledge framework related to the foot from a clinical point of view. The practice of biomechanics and templating is outdated, disproven and poses a significant risk to the profession and standards of clinical care. The current knowledge framework is often separated from the opportunities offered by digital technologies.
  2. Develop two new undergraduate and postgraduate action plans to integrate the knowledge framework into the pedagogical material dedicated to the subject: "Digital skills for clinical practice: foot orthoses and patient communication" and "Digital skills for business practice: entrepreneurial skills for students".
  3. Develop training for teachers "Digital skills of teachers/educators to support the digital future in foot health" and integrate the new digital skills-based knowledge framework and materials into teachers' educational practices.
  4. Develop a platform to connect foot health students, researchers, and teachers in a transnational peer-to-peer digital learning community.
