Título: Coevolutionary Algorithms and Machine Learning in the domain of Cyber Security.
Resumen: Cyber security adversaries and engagements are ubiquitous and ceaseless. We present studies of the behavior and dynamics of cyber adversaries in different simulated network security arms-races. We model the competition between the attacker and defender in a game using a graph database linking cybersecurity attack patterns, vulnerabilities, and software. We apply coevolutionary algorithms to learn robust strategies this environment. We compare the results generated by other learning approaches, e.g., multi-agent reinforcement learning.
Short bio: Erik Hemberg is a Research Scientist in the AnyScale Learning For All (ALFA) group at Massachusetts Institute of Technology Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab, USA. He has a PhD in Computer Science from University College Dublin, Ireland and an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Applied Mathematics from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. His research interests involves coevolutionary algorithms, grammatical representations and generative models. His work focuses on developing autonomous, pro-active cyber defenses that are anticipatory and adapt to counter attacks. He is also interested in automated semantic parsing of law, and data science for education and healthcare.
