01. What are the most important deadlines?

  • DEADLINE 1: Pre – enrollment: Until this deadline you can complete the Pre-enrollment. It means, to add, change, delete courses, send them to firm (Enviar a la firma)
  • DEADLINE 2: Enrollment – Until this deadline you need to formalize your first enrollment clicking on MATRICULAR. If you don’t do this step, your signed Pre-enrollment will NOT be recognized, and your Transcript of Records will NOT be issued.
  • DEADLINE 3: Modification of Enrollment– After the Enrollment deadline, you have time to modify your pre-enrollment. During this time of modification and after receiving the signature of the coordinator, click on “MODIFICAR” to formalize your modifications.
  • Deadline for extension (from 1st semester to full year): January 31st. Before this date, UMA International Relations Office needs to receive the confirmation from sending institutions regarding the extension of stay. This applies for students who wish to extend their stay from first (autumn) to second (summer) semester at the University of Malaga.

02. Can I attend master courses?

Master courses are available only when the interinstitutional agreement with home institutions contemplates this level of studies. In this case, students can only select master courses in their main faculty and they need the authorization of the Master Degree Coordinator.

03. Can I choose subjects from more than one faculty?

It is required to choose at least a half (50 %) of your courses at your main faculty (where you were nominated by your home university). The other half can be chosen in any other faculty. 

04. Can I change my main faculty?

It is not possible in most cases. Only if there is an interinstitutional agreement previously signed between home university and the faculty that you would like to attend. It must be consulted with the International Relations Office.

05. Can I modify my courses in EMI after clicking at Grabar?

You can modify, delete or add new courses in your Pre-enrollment as many times as you need before formalizing (matricular) the enrollment. Don’t forget that it won’t be possible after the deadline of modification!

06. Can I modify courses at EMI after having my pre-enrollment signed?

You can modify, delete or add new courses in your Pre-enrollment before clicking on MATRICULAR/ MODIFICAR. Don’t forget that it won’t be possible after the  deadline of modification!

07. Can I attend the class before formalizing the enrollment?

Yes you can, but you will need the authorization of the professor. Also, don't forget to enroll (MATRICULAR) before the enrollment deadline.

08. When Will I receive my DUMA account?

You will receive it within 5 days after clicking on MATRICULAR (in EMI) and you will need to follow the steps included in the email to activate it. If you have not received an email after 5 days or forgotten your password, simply follow these instructions: https://duma.uma.es/acceso/ 

09. How can I access the Virtual Campus or the UMA App?

After activating your DUMA account you can access the Virtual Campus website and follow the installation process of the UMA app on your mobile device through the platforms “Google play” (Android) and “App Store” (iPhone).

10. I can’t see my subjects in Campus Virtual. What should I do?

1. Make sure you clicked on "Mis asignaturas en todo Campus Virtual" and make sure you have enrolled these subjects correctly in EMI.
2. Check if the professor of the subject has enabled the group in Campus Virtual especially at the beginning of semester.
3. If you have made modifications in your enrolment or enrolled recently, it takes a few days to update.

If you still can´t see your courses or find any difficulties with CV, please contact the Service of Campus Virtual.

11. Where and when do I get my UMA student card?

After activating your DUMA account, download the UMA app on your smartphone and there you will be able to access your student card, which is exclusively virtual.

12. What should I do after formalizing the registration at the UMA?

You must show your professor the confirmation of enrolment which you obtain by mail from the International Office to verify that you have enrolled in the correct courses. Check with your teacher the code of the course, its name and the name of the degree. If you find any mistakes, please visit the International Office to correct it. 

13. Who is entitled to sign my Certificate of Attendance / Arrival?

The International Relations Office. Read section Certificate of Arrival and Certificate of Attendance. 

14. Who is entitled to sign my Learning Agreement?

Only your Academic Coordinator or Faculty Coordinator

15. How can I choose my group in the course?

If there are more than one group or turns in a course, these will be assigned by the Secretary of the faculty after completing the enrolment. If you need to request a change of group, you should contact the Secretary of your faculty.
