This meeting has been hosted by AGH University of Science and Technology, a member of the project partnership together with 8 other partners from 7 countries (Belgium, Cyprus, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Spain). During the meeting, the consortium has made progress in the implementation of ARTCademy, a knowledge management project that aims to preserve and strengthen the European artisan sector through two ways: first, protecting the ancestral knowledge of traditional crafts, especially if they are at risk of disappearing; Second, providign craft companies with training and tools for their commercial continuity and development.

At the meeting, partners further developed "CRAFTpedia”, a repository of audiovisual material available in the Internet on artisan crafts that collects and classifies knowledge of craft techniques, trades and traditions of ancestral value for its preservation and transmission to young generations. The partners will also develop a set of business training courses for people and micro enterprises in the artisanal sector, making it possible for artistic technical knowledge to lead to a sustainable business that allows its protagonists to live from it.

The ARTCademy project establishes operational links between the world of education & training and the world of work, embedding also the social and educational value of European cultural heritage as was remarked by the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage. The project has been funded with 228,421 euros in the 2018’s call and gives continuity to a former project OER-Crafts (2015-2017) which was recognised as an example of good practice.

As coordinating organisation of ARTCademy, the University of Malaga has led the presentations and the debates on the topics of the agenda, that had cover the development of the project activities -the OER platform, the Craftpedia repository of arts and crafts, the Biztraining course’s contents and the Green Art House virtual community of knowledge for public users which constitute the project intellectual outputs. The participants have verified that all the tasks are being satisfactorily developed and deadlines and objectives are being met.
