Project description

Older people in the European Union will make up a third of the total population in just a decade. It is a group of people who aspire to continue contributing with their personal and professional experience to the construction of an inclusive society, actively ageing but requiring the necessary skills to live fully in the information society.

Their conditions, experience and social links make them particularly suited to initiate or maintain social entrepreneurship projects that articulate communities, take advantage of the collective's experience and actively engage them in the future of societies.

Thus, the general objective of the SSE project is to raise awareness of the benefits of social entrepreneurship for older people. The specific objectives are:

  • Raise awareness of the importance of social enterprise and motivate older people to take this path.
  • Developing a resource pack on social entrepreneurship for older people.
  • Designing interactive e-learning courses for training.

Its resulting products include an interactive training course on social entrepreneurship for older people to complete knowledge and to increase the entrepreneurial skills of those who have spent their working life as employees and an e-platform for older social entrepreneurship with interactive online tools and resources.
