The Department of English, French and German Philology was originally created in 1973 as "Department of Anglogermanistics" by Professor Dr. Juan Manuel de la Cruz Fernández. Later it was renamed as "Department of English Philology" and expanded in 1988 with the inclusion of French and German studies.
