Cursos Cero 2023-24

English course on basic programming concepts, at introductory level, targeted to new students of the Degree on Computer Science Engineering, Double Degree Computer Science Engineering + Mathematics, Degree on Software Engineering and Degree on Computer Engineering of the ETSI Informática of the University of Málaga. 

• Goal of the course: To show the students what the English classes in the ETSI Informatica are like. Programming is used as a vehicle to conduct the classes. The main thread of the course will be the guided, step-by-step development of a video game. These classes should be useful for the students to experience how comfortable they feel with English as a class language. Basic programming concepts will be introduced. No previous knowledge of programming is required. The course is not a previous requirement for the regular programming subjects the new students will attend in their first years. All the concepts presented in this course will be studied and developed from scratch in the regular programming subjects.
• Content : What are computers and how do we communicate with them. Algorithms and programs. Basic programming concepts: data types and values, and commands, alternatives and loops. Objects, messages and information flows for problem solving. Development and debugging of computer applications.
• In-person course. It will held in the ETSI Informatica PC laboratories.

• Booking and enrolment: Booking dates are 01/8/2023 to 31/8/2023. Enrolment will be done automatically when you are accepted in the course.
• Access requirements: Being a new students of any of the aforementioned Degrees of the E.T.S.I. Informática of the University of Málaga.
• Students selection criteria if applications exceed the available positions: English knowledge equivalent or higher to level A2 or B1.
