CIP - Participation
PARTICIPATION CIP
Different types of organisations and individuals may participate: companies (in particular, SMEs), research bodies (public, private and universities), NGOs and public authorities. However, eligibility criteria varies with each proposal and it depends on the financial scheme. Thus, universities and research centres find further opportunities to participate in programmes related to ICTs, intelligent energy and environmental technology.
From a geographic point of view, members from the European Economic Area, accession countries, and those from the Western Balkans can participate. Third countries, especially neighbouring countries interested in cooperating with the Community in innovation may participate if the bilateral agreements with these countries allows so.
IEE and ICT-PSP programmes usually issue calls for proposals. EIP, although having other mechanisms, also issues calls related to innovation and eco-innovation. Finally, EIP may also issue calls for tenders.
Activities funded under the CIP programme are:
- Technology transfer, use and protection of intellectual property.
- Business commercialisation and expansion via pilot and market replication projects.
- Analyses of policies and strategies (statistics, surveys, studies, etc.)
- Non-technological innovation (potential innovation analysis, organisational strategies, etc.)
- Networking
The participation procedure is very similar to that of FP7; however, research activities are not funded, given that CIP project activities are market-oriented.
