Seventh Framework Programme - Participation
In most cases FP7 financies research submitted by consortia. In general, these consortia must be made up of, at least, three legal entities, each of which is established in a Member State or Associated country.
Thus, the proposal submitted must specificy the category of participants which will benefit from it previous to the partner search.
Before requesting a partner, details of the project shall be provided (A summary of the objectives and main activities, activities ot be carrie dout by the requested partner, the FP7 area to which the project corresponds, the finance scheme, etc.).
There are many channels available for research partner search:
- Through the Partners Service web portal CORDIS (Community Research and Development Information Service)
- By attending “info-days” and other research meetings held in Brussels or your country.
- Through Ideal-ist, the National Contact Point (NCP) networks under Chapter 3 “Information and Communication Technology” (only for ICT projects). http://www.ideal-ist.net
- Via centres for technoligcal industrial developments (CDTI) and other NCPs.
- Through any of the numerous entities or support and advisory networks of FP7 participation.
- Other: Euroblog
Therefore, we recommend contacting any of the aforementioned bodies to communicate your interest to participate, in addition to specifying which areas and which lines of technological innovation and development will be of interest.
In general, consortium members shall respond to the following profiles:
- As contractor or partner: Consortium member (Beneficiary). This entity is resposible for the project and holds the rights of property, exploitation, and use of the results generated by the project.
- As coordinator: In most cases, this corresponds to one of the contractors responsible for the administrative management anf technical coordinations of the project. It represents the sole mediator with the European Commission (contract, payment arrangement and advances, reports, etc.).
- As subcontractor: Provides services financed 100% by partner. This entity is not a member of the consortium, does not have access to the results, and does not perform any administrative tasks.
- As User: Can participate in any of the aforementioned profiles by helping define the project objectives in the initial stage and check the utility of results through a final demonstration.
