"Spain and America: Crossed Paths. An Interdisciplinary Perspective"

This international workshop, organized by the Maria Zambrano Center for Transatlantic Studies (University of Malaga) under the title "Spain and America: Crossed Paths. An Interdisciplinary Perspective" is the first one in a series of international meetings that will discuss the Euro-American relations from different points of view and approaches. The study of mutual relations in the Atlantic axis can help us to understand, in a geostrategic sense, the context in which cultural, social and economic policies (among others) can be implemented. These are the subject of study and analysis of the Maria Zambrano Center for Transatlantic Studies.

Methodology:

Experts from the United States, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Germany and Spain will give their own point of view of the situation from the perspective of Social Sciences and Humanities, which constitutes the main guidance of the current workshop: politics, scientific culture, economy, languages, literature, translation, Iberian studies, communication, etc. will be the focus of attention during the two days of the workshop.

Date and place:

  • 14th of May: morning and afternoon session, at the Sala de Juntas del Rectorado of the University of Malaga. Free entrance.
  • 15th of May: morning session, at the Macharaviaya Town Hall. Closed session.

Target:

At the first meeting day, the 14th of May, the event is open to everyone who is interested in the relations that take place between the two sides of the Atlantic.
