Hanna-Mari Kivistö

Postdoctoral researcher in Political Science, Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy, University of Jyväskylä. She received her PhD degree in December 2013. During 2014 and 2015 she worked as an acting university lecturer in political science, teaching courses on political thought, political concepts, human rights, democratic theory and methods of political analysis.

Her fields of interests include human rights, political theory, right to asylum, conceptual history and political rhetoric. She began her three year Kone Foundation postdoctoral scholarship in 2016. The study theorises politics of human rights with focus on debates that are connected to asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in particular.
