Big Data – Platforms and Benchmarking

A lot of people involved with sharing and generating value from data will be heading to Eindhoven at the end of June for the annual European Data Forum. BDE’s project coordinator Sören Auer will be among the speakers when he’ll present his work on the Industrial Data Space Initiative which is closely related tho this project of course. Many of the BDE team will be there so please come and see us on our booth.

But don’t rush off after the event!

The day after EDF, Friday 1 July, we’ll join forces with two other projects, HOBBIT and Roadmap BYTE for a ¾ day workshop

Big Data: Platforms and Benchmarking.

The day will begin with a quick over view of the three projects followed by an interactive panel discussing common issues between the three Big Data projects. Chaired by W3C’s Phil Archer, the aim is to hear from as many people in the room as possible on future directions for Big Data tools, benchmarks, semantification and more.

The final session, after lunch, will be a bar camp. That is, anyone that wants to can take up to 60 seconds to pitch an idea for a breakout discussion before everyone votes with their feet. Not all the ideas will be taken up, some will merge – that’s the way bar camps work – but you can be sure that there will be lively conversation among knowledgeable people getting together to share ideas and insights.
