SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Progress Report of the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact (ASEPAM)
On July 19, 2006, by a resolution of the Governing Board, the University signed a membership agreement with the United Nations Global Compact, thus becoming part of the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact (ASEPAM).
This commitment requires its members to present an annual Progress Report, in which each institution or company adheres to the Global Compact, and reports on the degree to which the requirements set out in the ten principles of the Global Compact have been fulfilled.
The Progress Report shows the University’s commitment to transparency towards society. At the same time, the report is a management tool enabling the institution to make progress in the design and management of the actions taken with respect to Human Rights, Labour Rights, the Environment and Development and the fight against corruption, extortion and bribery.
The University of Malaga wishes to extend its participation by making public its experiences, related to the implementation of a social management system, with measures aimed to promote this commitment with the principles of the Compact:
Social Responsibility Report
The Social Responsibility Report is a commitment of this institution which is reflected in the Strategic Plan 2009/2012. Currently, the Progress Report of the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact (ASEPAM), also serves as the Social Responsibility Report, since the indicators used by the Spanish Network for drawing up the Progress Report, are assimilated with those established by the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative).
The University of Malaga plans to modify the structure of its annual Academic Report in order to comply with the requirements of the Social Responsibility Report, thus creating a single document.
