A London organisation, working in social housing to create innovative energy solutions for housing providers and their customers, is looking to join two consortium to apply for the

call H2020-EE-07-2016-2017 Behavioural change toward energy efficiency through ICT and

under the Horizon 2020 Societal Challenges.

1)      For the call H2020-EE-07-2016-2017 the London organisation would like to join a project with the following project idea:

Smart meters are currently being rolled out across the EU, including the EU. One of their key advantages is the generation of accurate consumption data. In the UK this data will be provided to energy companies directly and to consumers via energy companies or through the In Home Display (IHD). However, Consumer Access Devices will also provide an additional source of and route for data that can be accessed by consumers, property owners, energy companies or third party organisations to develop energy advice and/or new business models.

This project will look at the potential role of use of consumer access devices in saving energy by motivating and supporting behaviour change in energy end users. It will develop and test a number of approaches to identify the most effective and the most cost effective both in terms of the type of consumer access device and also who accesses and manages the data they generate including:

  • Type of consumer access devices – actual physical devices and the potential for ‘virtual’ devices. The costs of units, ease of installation and the ICT issues.
  • Data routes and use – the routes that that the data can take including direct to consumers, to landlords, to energy companies and third party organisations.

These approaches will be evaluated in terms of their ability to be able to generate energy savings through the motivation and support of behavioural change of energy consumers.

The bid already has the support of  other UK Social Housing providers and behavioural change specialists. The project will also look to have an energy company involved as part of the project.

The organisation is looking for:

EU Partners that could be technology companies, social housing providers or energy companies that would be willing to lead the project.

If you are interested in becoming the lead partner or should you require any information please contact Hugo Clarke at: Hugo.c@accesseurope.org.uk or  02077495159,  as soon as possible.
