Abstract:
Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) have been deployed to cater for the specific needs of power constrained Internet of Things devices. LoRaWAN is an example of LPWAN and it provides features such as low power, mobile and secure bidirectional communication between IOT devices. LoRaWAN currently being at its beginning stage and therefore much work has yet to be done in making LoRaWAN better and more secure. Though LoRaWAN provides end-to-end security, however vulnerabilities exist in the security mechanism of LoRaWAN join procedure. This talk revolves around explaining the LoRaWAN standard and the vulnerabilities in the LoRaWAN join procedure.
