AIMS AND SCOPE

Today’s landscape of research is really varied and specialized at the same time. Many daily advances appear relating telecoms, health, information technologies, transport, and a countless list of interesting domains. This conference makes a multidisciplinary unique event devoted to a hot topic: the revolution to occur in our cities.
Nowadays, cities evolve rapidly, as a response to the big number of people who already live or plan to live in them (up to 70% of world population in 2050). This provokes a growth of the demand of new services, as much as it creates new challenges to city managers and frustrates citizens who see their commodity, health, and economy negatively affected by the shortage of proper solutions.
There exists then a new domain of work, either for research, development, and innovation, consisting in addressing the very complex problems that appear in our cities. The "Smart City" term has recently born as a worldwide joint effort aiming at achieving a holistic (integral, coordinated, global) management of resources that hopefully will satisfy three main players: citizens, city managers, and the companies deemed to actually implement the solutions.
One capital issue in smart cities not to be underestimated is the holistic nature of all problems and solutions, way beyond the up-to-now too much focused studies in one part of it. Countless interactions exist between a problem, a service solving it, its users, its managers, and providers. Many horizontal implications exist (relation to other parts or services) as well as many vertical approaches for a solution can be offered (with possibly different quality of service).
This conference welcomes researchers, practitioners, companies, governmental and individual participation around the products and services that will shape our future digital cities. There is a clear goal here in presenting new results, either coming from research, development and innovation, to create an international pole of attraction for people (and knowledge) who will enhance their scientific and practical know-how on the many different niches of work in smart cities.
So, we encourage submissions in the following domains (not excluding others):

Ampliación plazo 3ª Convocatoria conjunta España - India para financiar proyectos bilaterales de I+D en sectores: Tecnologías Limpias, TICs, Smart Cities, Materiales y Producción avanzada

Se amplía el plazo hasta el 17 de junio para la presentación de propuestas de proyectos de I+D en colaboración entre entidades de ambos países en los sectores: Tecnologías Limpias, TICs, Smart Cities, Materiales y Producción avanzada
En el marco del Nuevo Programa de Cooperación firmado entre CDTI y el Departamento indio de Ciencia y Tecnología (DST) para promover la I+D+i y fortalecer las alianzas entre España e India en áreas prioritarias para la colaboración mutua, se lanza la segunda convocatoria CDTI - DST (GITA) para la presentación de propuestas en los sectores de Tecnologías Limpias, TICs, Smart Cities, Materiales y Producción avanzada.

Características de los proyectos a presentar
El proyecto debe estar orientado al desarrollo o mejora significativa de un producto, proceso o servicio innovador con perspectivas de mercado.
Debe contar por lo menos con la participación de un partner español y un partner indio:
- Por parte de la India tiene que participar al menos una empresa que, a su vez puede ir acompañada de otros organismos (universidades, centros de investigación). En los proyectos de Electronic Design Manufacturing (ESDM) será obligatoria la participación de 1 empresa y 1 institución académica.
- Por parte de España tiene que participar al menos una empresa que, opcionalmente, puede ir en colaboración con otros organismos de investigación (Universidades, OPIs y Centros de Innovación y Tecnología) subcontratados en el presupuesto.
La propuesta debe estar equilibrada, tanto en recursos técnicos como financieros, entre las partes y los resultados deben suponer un beneficio para las mismas.
La tercera Convocatoria CDTI-DST (GITA) está abierta a proyectos deI+D liderados por empresa y orientados a mercado en los sectores Tecnologías Limpias, TICs, Smart Cities, Materiales y Producción Avanzada y en concreto los organismos gestores destacan como principales subsectores de interés:
- Green Technologies (Renewable Energies and Environment) "economically competitive production processes and products that use less or substitutes harmful or critical materials and/or energy reduce, replace and reuse of resources".

- Energy Efficiency
- Transportation
- Air & Environment
- Clean Industry
- Water and Agriculture
- Application of Remote Sensing and GIS for accurate inventory of natural resources and environmental planning
- Smart Cities (Sustainable Cities and Transport Networks).

- Intelligent Transport and Mobility
- Societal Challenges: inclusion, education, health, tourism, electronic, open and participatory government
- Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) Technologies focussing on:
- Large Area Flexible Electronics

- Devices for Internal Security
- Advanced Materials, Advanced Manufacturing & Processing
Plazos de presentación
Apertura de la convocatoria: 16 de diciembre de 2015.
Fecha límite para la presentación de solicitudes: 17 de junio de 2016.
En este período se tendrán que presentar paralelamente tanto en GITA, socios indios, como en CDTI, socios españoles, las correspondientes solicitudes para el proyecto en colaboración, cumpliendo los requisitos y documentación solicitados por cada entidad.
Resolución proyectos seleccionados: octubre 2016.
Procedimiento de presentación de propuestas
Las empresas españolas deben presentar su solicitud al CDTI, a través de la página web de CDTI (https://solicitudes.cdti.es/Internet/accesoSistema.aspx) presentando una solicitud de proyecto India & Spain Innovating Programme (ISIP). La documentación a adjuntar como parte de la solicitud telemática será la de un proyecto India & Spain Innovating (ISIP): Memoria de Proyecto Internacional (en castellano), Application Form (en inglés) y Acuerdo de Consorcio (en inglés).
Los participantes de India deben realizar su solicitud en GITA cumpliendo las condiciones de dicho organismo reflejadas en el Texto de la convocatoria (en inglés), así como en su página web http://www.gita.org.in
Evaluación de propuestas
Cada organismo nacional, CDTI en España y DST (GITA) en India, llevará a cabo la evaluación de las propuestas recibidas, en base a criterios consensuados (especificados en el texto de la Convocatoria) y siguiendo una misma metodología.
Una vez finalizado el proceso de evaluación, se convocarán comisiones bilaterales para consensuar la resolución conjunta final indicando los proyectos elegibles para financiación en el marco de la presente Convocatoria.
La financiación de los socios indios se hará con los fondos y las condiciones de GITA http://www.gita.org.in y la de los españoles con créditos CDTI con las condiciones que se aplican a los proyectos internacionales http://www.cdti.es/index.asp?MP=7&MS=563&MN=3; para más detalles consultar Texto de la convocatoria (en inglés).
