Between 27 and 29 June 2016, the Research Executive Agency (REA) is co-organising an Info Week in Brussels for the 2017 calls for proposals of the Societal Challenge 2 (SC2) on ‘Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, Marine and Maritime and Inland Water Research and the Bioeconomy’. This Info Week combines a dissemination event for the results of projects funded under SC2 with an Info Day and a brokerage event for the 2017 calls for proposals. In addition, a dedicated Coordinators Day is being organised for projects funded under the 2014 and 2015 calls. The dissemination event, on 27 June, will give visibility to results of projects funded through FP7 and Horizon 2020 under the umbrella of SC2. Featured projects will be linked to research priorities identified for the 2017 Work Programme and their outcomes will be brought to the attention of all parties interested in past and future calls related to SC2.
During the Info Day on 28 June, an overview will be provided of the new funding opportunities available under the SC2 2017 calls for proposals. This will target potential applicants for the four following calls: ‘Sustainable Food Security’, ‘Blue Growth’, ‘Rural Renaissance’ and ‘Bio-based innovation’.
The morning session of the Info Day will highlight the research priorities of the 2017 Work Programme and practical aspects of proposal submission and evaluation. Parallel sessions will then be organised by call and topic, during which key aspects of the new topics will be presented. Registered participants will be able to send questions on the SC2 2017 calls and this input will serve as a basis for discussion in the parallel sessions.
On 28 June, in the afternoon, the BIOHORIZON project will organise a brokerage event to help find potential partners for future applications. For more information and registration please go here.
Registration for the SC2 dissemination event and the Info Day is free and open until 10 June but due to limited space, applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Registrations will close when the maximum number of participants is reached.All sessions will be web-streamed and recorded, and presentations will be published after the event.
The links to the webstreaming will be live on 27 and 28 June 2016 from 9:30 onwards.
