GRANTS AND STUDY ASSISTANCE 2013-2014

Grants awarded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports

> General grants and mobility for students: 12,387 grants were awarded (up 15% on the previous year), totalling € 24,928,597. (In the 2012-2013 academic year, € 28,959,997 in grants was awarded).
> Collaboration with departments grants: 83 grants of € 2,000 each were awarded for the UMA, compared to 112 grants of € 2,700 each, awarded in the academic year 2012-2013.
> Seneca Grants: No call has been announced for these grants, which facilitated SICUE mobility, and it seems unlikely there will be a call during the 2014-2015 academic year.

Grants and assistance offered by the UMA 

> Additional assistance for students undertaking non-Erasmus mobility: 98 applications were submitted. 88 applicants were awarded grants amounting to € 50,520.00.

> SICUE Mobility Assistance:    64 applications were presented and 33 grants have been awarded amounting to € 47,000. More grants of lower amounts have been awarded compared to the previous academic year.  

Regional Government of Andalusia Study Assistance and the UMA Social Assistance

> The funds for Study Assistance awarded by the Regional Government of Andalusia and the UMA are combined in a single call. For this academic year, the budget was increased to € 875,000, € 250,000 of which corresponds to the University’s budget. 2,861 applications were submitted and 1,426 were awarded grants, with a total budget of € 840,570.38.

Grants for the UMA’s Students' Association

> In the 2013-2014 academic year, a call for grants was announced for the UMA student associations. There was a budget of €20,000. 19 grants were awarded to associations and one to the Students Council.
