The bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering share most of the transversal competences (called basic and general competences depending on the degree) (ETSIT2021). These competences are difficult to assess and work on, given that they are blurred between all the subjects taught and, although they are indirectly worked on, there are no specific activities with which they can be assessed. Moreover, it is observed that the students' level in basic activities such as writing, presentation of ideas, as well as the ability to reflect on the results obtained, is increasingly lower. In the Permanent Group for Educational Innovation in transversal competences in engineering, these competences are going to be worked on, trying to go beyond the limits of the engineering schools themselves. The main competences to be worked on will be:
A.  That students have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data in order to make judgements that include a reflection on social, scientific or ethical issues.
B. Students should be able to transmit information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialised and non-specialised audiences.
C. Ability to assume and attitude of respect for fundamental rights and equality between men and women.
D. Ability to solve problems with initiative, decision-making, creativity and to communicate and transmit knowledge, skills and abilities, understanding the ethical and professional responsibility of the engineer's activity.
E. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary group and in a multilingual environment and to communicate, both in writing and orally, knowledge, procedures, results and ideas related to engineering.
