Welcome to the Comité Ético de Experimentación de la Universidad de Málaga  (CEUMA)

In November 2007, the University of Malaga, as a public body involved in teaching and research, and aware of its duty and responsibility towards society, set up the Experimentation Ethics Committee to ensure good practice in teaching and research. A further aim is to provide effective support and response to current needs or to those which in the future may arise in this area.

The Experimentation Ethics Committees of Spanish universities have stressed the importance of disseminating and promoting university community discussions on ethical issues of general interest. The objective is to ensure that the scientific community is aware of the need to protect the fundamental rights of people, animals and the environment, thus leading to higher quality in teaching and research. An additional goal is that society recognizes and values the importance of experimentation with living organisms, its limits and conditions, as well as the impact it has on the welfare of citizens.
