REQUIREMENTS AND CRITERIA (approved 15/01/2021)

 
The criteria includes the academic record of the Undergraduate and Master's degree leading to the Doctorate Program (if the completion of the latter is an essential requirement), and - where appropriate - the evaluation of at least two years of training in a program for obtaining the official title of any of the specialties in Health Sciences obtained after passing the access test to specialized health training places via the Internal Resident Specialist (EIR).


The evaluation of the academic record represents 60% of the overall score.

In accordance with the Agreement of the Postgraduate Commission of the University of Malaga, of July 16, 2019, the accreditation of being in possession of a funded pre-doctoral scholarship to carry out the doctoral program is determined as a preferential access criterion to doctoral programs (FPU grants or equivalent).

 


In addition, the following aspects will be assessed within the "other merits" section:


The suitability of the studies that allow the access to the Doctoral Programme, in relation to the research aim in which the applicant wish to orientate his or her doctoral thesis.

The applicant's curriculum vitae.

The interest for the Faculty, of the research topic in which the applicant wishes to carry out his or her work, by means of a report from the proposed Departments, Centers or thesis directors (a letter or endorsement must be presented).

The coherence of the planned thesis topic, where appropriate, with the research topics of the Doctoral Program.

Other merits related to the investigation.

The availability of research staff with permanent links to the University of Malaga and accredited research experience, to carry out the supervision of the thesis in the research area requested by the applicant.

The availability of the necessary means for the research work that the applicant intends to develop.

 

CRITERIA

 

  • Academic record: 60%
  • Other merits: 40%
    • Predoctoral research contract with any research team of the Doctoral Program: 1
    • Any other predoctoral research contract 0.1
    • Membership in any PAIDI/IBIMA group of the Doctoral Program: 0.5
    • Membership in any other research group accredited by any organization: 0.1
    • Letter of expression of interest from one of the professors of the Doctoral Program: 0.5
    • Letter of expression of interest from a director who is not a teaching staff of the Doctoral Program: 0.1
    • Research projects and grants: as principal investigator (maximum 0.5), as collaborating researcher (maximum 0.1)
    • Other merits in research (maximum 0.5p): 
      • Papers published in research journals: grading according to quality indicators: maximum 0.3. 
      • Publications in books: grading according to quality indicators: maximum 0.05.
      • Training in research skills of more than 100 hours (maximum 0.1)
      • Contributions to conferences: only the 5 best contributions to national and international Congresses and/or membership of the Scientific or Organizing Committee will be taken into account. Contributions to regional or local congresses or mere attendance at congresses will not be evaluated (maximum 0.05). 0.05
    • Presentation of a thesis project under joint supervision with foreign universities with which the University of Malaga has a collaboration agreement in force 0.4
    • Presentation of a thesis project that is eligible for the industrial mention 0.2
    • Accredited active professional activity in Health Care Sector (public or private entities): 0.02 per full year of work, maximum 0.2p
    • Accredited linguistic skills in English: Level C1: 0.05p; Level C2: 0.1p.
