Destination UMA is the University's way of reaching out to the whole province, thus going to the furthest municipalities (Ronda, Vélez-Málaga, Marbella, Estepona, Antequera, Coín…) and, in collaboration with the city councils, assembling pre-university students to inform them about university-related issues with which they may be concerned. Therefore, we rely on the collaboration of UMA deans, teachers, and students.
The aim of these activities are two-fold: on the one hand, students are informed about academic, administrative, and institutional aspects of admissions procedure (exam, pre-registration, single district, etc.); on the other hand, students will receive further details on degree programmes and the university structure at round tables.
Although the roundtables and talks have different focuses, they will be held in parallel sessions so that pre-university students may put forth their doubts or inquiries.
Destination UMA also organises training sessions where those in charge of giving talks will learn about the objectives, contents, and methodology of the sessions they will be delivering, thus making sure that the sessions delivered will be homogeneous in nature, no matter the speaker. Furthermore, we draw on previous years' experience to optmise the following informative sessions.
However, it should be said that a certain amount of flexibility is allowed regarding the methodology given that it is subject to attendees' ages which will determine their knowledge on these aspects. Likewise, it will also be subject to the estimated number of attendees and their origin.
Sessions will have an approximate duration of 4 hours.
